Hermana

Hermana

A Poem by Alexandra

Sister
I made you my own
When no one opened the door looking for you
Sister
I stood by your side
Taking all those blows
Sister
I let you cry on my shoulder
When he abandoned you
Sister
I gave you all my secrets
So you knew I was never going to back out
Sister
You decided to run
And never come back home
To f**k the man I said I loved
And came back with:
“I heard you called me a w***e”
Back when I never knew who you were

Sister,
Never Return
I give my heart to few
And you were a chance I should’ve never took
But that’s what happens when you believe when someone calls you blood
And they never meant it at all
