Loving Asunder

Loving Asunder

A Poem by OtherWorldWoman

I chase the frayed edges of the world,
shouting out to him from all those miles ahead.
Begging him to take my hand.
There are secrets in the stars that he has never felt the desire to pursue,
My heart cries out for him to see the glorious layers of the lives we live,
But he is miles behind me and contentedly unmoving.
Every so often, he will take a step and trip over a wall that was never truly there.
And I wish to the heavens I could pull him from the sinking sand that so consumes him,
but my path doesn't run backwards.
And my heart is too wild to be tamed.
