The Gathering of the Misfits has Ended

The Gathering of the Misfits has Ended

A Poem by OtherWorldWoman

Say goodbye to our entangled arms
They were never lasting as it was
With grinning teeth and hidden tears
Our intersection ends
I will fly to Jupiter
When I can't follow you
On your journey through the stars
Those moments play through my swollen mind
Like old films whose lustre never seems to die
We were submersed in a sea of zero-g
And it was always for the fun of it, I know
But its so hard to let go
Of the wildfire bubbling beneath my skin
Would you please put it to an end?
Snuff the flames you ignited, before you leave...
Give back my breath that you stole so long ago.
I want to be numb, once more.
Before I walk alone.
