inner universe

inner universe

A Poem by Alice Luanne Sutcliffe

   i.
i found a phone
on the pavement
where we first met
and it was dialing
689269033986
   ii.
the night i left
the stars beckoned me
but i declined
because a state line
hurts so much less than
the speed of light
   iii.
i rode a blue train
through the city
and tried to pretend
that it was home
and that you were there
beside me
   iv.
the bleach stared back
and i threw it far away
not because it hurt me
but because drinking it
would have hurt you

I’m not sure where to go on this write but I think it inner turmoil that you’ve met and the bleach would serve as your escape but in doing so would only bring harm. Nice piece.
