It is Mine

It is mine
Always mine
No one else
Can make it move
No one else
Could change it too
It is mine
Always mine
 
It is dark
Like night itself
Like books of gost stories
Sitting on a  shelf
And even when
The sun comes up
It does not fade
As it must
Stay dark at day
Like a tree's
Will give us shade
It hides at night
And plays all day
I know my shadow
Will not fade

And even as
The light grows dim
And my life
Is looking grim
My shadow I know 
Will always stay
Till I am dust
That fades away
