there he was, standing so still, looking as pretty as ever.

he didn't see me coming, not now not ever

cause when someone is better

nothing lasts forever.

A cynicism borne from rejection or something similar? It seems we frame others in our own scene, judging them better or worse, but perhaps never truly knowing. And, so much truth in the last line. A thought-provoking poem.
