Thai-English Translation

Thai-English Translation

There’s an old saying that is sometimes used when a person doesn’t completely understand what is being said or written. The phrase people use is: “I think it was lost in the translation” and that saying can certainly be applied when you are translating from Thai to English. That’s why a professional translator is essential for a complete, accurate translation.

Dictionaries are fine, but they are lacking.

In simple terms, dictionaries give the definition of a word, and you may have to read all the definitions of a word to find the meaning that applies to your sentence. So, how can you determine which is the best definition of the word you intend to use. In addition, could there be a better word or phrase to convey your meaning?

A professional translator is a professional. That means he knows the many meanings of a Thai word and knows exactly how to find the equivalent word in English that transfers the meaning from Thai to English. Sometimes there is a fine line between translating the exact word or thought from Thai to English and that’s where a professional translator is not only handy; it’s essential.

Grasping the true meaning of a word or phrase is the job of a professional. The reason it’s essential could mean the difference between being success in the business world and possibly being ridiculed and losing a deal. How important is it that you want to communicate your idea or thought correctly? If it’s important, you’ll want to use a professional, not a dictionary.

Is modern software enough?

The 21st century has brought us an abundance of tools for nearly every problem. But can you rely on computer software to communicate the idea or thought you want to convey? Even the best software will never convey the feelings or meanings or nuances of the human mind. That’s why a professional translator is indispensable.

There’s an old saying that you can only make one first impression. If your number one goal is to make a good first impression, don’t rely on software. To paraphrase a computer adage, “mediocre in results in mediocre out.” Make the best impression by utilizing a professional Thai English translator to communicate the exact words you intend.

The best translation results from good relations.

You can have peace of mind only if you have full confidence in the translator you use, and that comes from a good relationship. A skilled Thai English translator can interpret the real meaning of a word, phrase or sentence, and communicate the right tone and meaning of the words. You can be confident of your translator when he fully understands your language and culture and, at the same time, he understands the culture and language of Thailand.

To sum it up, it all depends on you. Don’t rely on a dictionary or on some language software to express what you want to say. You can only have full confidence in your communication if you have confidence on your translator. You need a professional Thai English translator.
