"In Between the Lines"

"In Between the Lines"

A Poem by Mark

       "In Between the Lines"

Reading in between the lines, is not imagination,

That's where my muse so often dines, though not without frustration.

The literary banquet there, a poet"s rare delight,

A feast to feed a man of prose, a dinner every night.

Please pass the nouns and verbs to me, the adverbs not so much.

I do prefer the adjectives, the metaphors, and such.

A dinner of enlightenment becomes it's own reward,

An appetite, of gourmet delight, is such a smorgasbord.

Clever poem Mark. Your muse knows where to dine. A most enjoyable read.

sometimes this kind of smorgasbord might have us asking the server, "i'm sorry but do you have any themes in the back that arent on the buffet table?

i am looking for a few symbols, some allegory, a few interjections.

scrumptious feast this poem is. it is what is between the lines that is best...that is where we pick from the menu...our own delights.
