Words Left Unspoken

Things that should have been said, but never was spoken!

Silent words are the untouched warmth of dying love,
and a smile never truly reaches the lips
A broken heart steals a glimmer of hope from a lost soul
While forever shades of once were and never to be again
Cascades into a day at a time, then into pain shattered about

Unspoken words tell of lost dreams that fade into nothing
Tears are a shimmer of doubt that never healed,
and are the secrets hidden somewhere in time
There are words that could hear the confession,
but never was voiced

Quiet words fear the silence that was unspoken,
and if it were broken time could possibly stand still
Unsaid words laced voices
Where two people fell out of love

Broken romances and unspoken words. I wonder whether it would have made any difference if they had been said. A thought to.ponder on. Lovely poetic expression in this write. Very nice indeed.

Wow! What a statement. Unspoken words do say so much, don't they? I love the line "Shades of once were and never to be again/Cascade into a day at a time. It's such a picture of loneliness. You capture the feeling of regret in leaving words unsaid. Bravo!
