Human Characteristics

What people are made of!

Mirrors reflecting images,

virtue of others revealed.

World gives luminous light,

or bleakness from the

characters within.

 

Artificial feelings

feast on hate or lies.

Bodies of stone

remorseless of who they are.

 

Evil eyes yearn, and

search to bring harm.

Wickedness is their best friend.

Immoral heart beats to the

rhythm of  the pain of others.

 

Arrogant personality,

disposition never changes.

Respect is lost in the

emptiness of their heads.

Shameless is the only

song on their radio.

 

When rain falls,

is that the world crying?

Characteristics of humans

sending out sadness?

 

Laughter follows them

around like puppies.

Enjoyment is handed out freely.

Happiness is their middle name.

 

Devotion is a true friend,

helping hands hold frimly.

Loyalty keeps the hearts

locked together with faithfulness.

Their life is a schedule of

how can I help you?

 

Charm overflows,

drowning people with

their delightfulness.

Life vest of love is

worn around their neck.

 

When the sun shines,

is that the world smiling?

Characteristics of humans

bringing happiness?

 

Qualities make up a person.

Good?

Bad?

Characteristics make us who

we are.

such a descriptive write here! the first two lines are brilliant openers - and I love the bodies of stone idea - the nature of being human - what is it that makes us - i like that you play on different levels of idea - some determinist tones at points too! nice!

I think this is great! Your contrast if turned 180 degrees would have offered a lingering view of some terrible traits of mankind you describe so well. By turning the tongue you display redemptive smiles of joyful characteristics leaving bitter behind, sweet ahead. Mixed together, is life's glass half empty or half full? Is humanity ugly or beautiful? Depends upon point of view. Thank you for this excellent insight that brings a smile to my face.

I like how you are start with the negative and move to the positive in this poem about humans. The imagery is beautiful and relates emotions to nature which is true. many times we are sad if it rains for long periods of time and we are happier when the sunshines. the is done very well and conveys your thoughts on how we should be clearly.
