The Future Tree

The Future Tree

A Poem by StormeLight

Nothing is set in stone

Everything set in motion

Must stay at motion

You can change direction

In the tree of life

Your future,

The branches,

You are the trunk

Patterns feel like fate

Until you find where they break

Always making the same mistakes

Just with a different face

Our lives are always hanging in the balance

Through all decisions made

With only brief dalliance

We must face our patterns with valiance

Even if the only choice at our present

Is to not allow our reality

To augment

And if we fall prey

To the other choices made for us

Everyday,

Acceptance looks like

"Come what may"

With a tenacious stare

"I won't go away"

"You can't make me disappear"
