Amber

Amber

A Poem by Shauna

Lovely Amber

She's spider-cider dreams

A stainglass nectarine

Forbidden fruit from the tree

She's crimson and clover

Glazing me over

With peaches and cream

I've no more air to breathe

Smothering to death

In her syrup sunset

With sticky Midas fingertips

Holds me in a honeycrypt

She seals me with a kiss

From her marmalade lips

Weeping Heliades tears

And Amber's keeping me here
