Emptiness

Emptiness

A Poem by Lyanna Anne Maigold
"

This is something I wrote in one of my darker times. It is about the moments, when you feel so empty, that you think even the worst rage, sadness or pain would be better.

"

Our world shall end,

It has been said

In either fire or ice,

Both of which I’m sure

For destruction would suffice.

Most people are afraid of both

As it is destruction, they fear the most.

But to me, true terror is

This darkness I have inside

Where both pleasure and pain

Are lost.

What keeps me awake at night,

Is not the thought of an end to life,

But the emptiness within,

Having no hope in sight.

Despairing in those insomniac times

I envy the lives devoured

By either fire or ice.

For compared to this nightmare

Even destruction seems nice.
