That Place I Call Mine

That Place I Call Mine

A Poem by Derek Streidl
"

From "Tales of the Golden Age"

"

Partnered with my strength, yet alone I traverse

Coupled with fear, I saunter into the fray

The only path I have ever known is discourse

How many of my comrades will fall to this pit?

The light through this glass pane has shown brighter

The privation intensifies, soon I long to find it

Yet hidden under the sheet, it all appears black

However I attempt to follow what they said, fight it

Is this the offerings life has to leave?

If this is all, then allow me to wander to sea

For if I am lost to the great unknown

Maybe it is in that I have finally found my home
