In Love

When we parted I inhaled
and every breath tasted of you,
every thought filled me full of your beauty.
My spirit soared to the sky,
my soul lifted to the heavens
as my contentment swelled this beating,
thankful heart,
and the warmest of smiles
spread across my aching lips
and flooded my loins with desire.

The love sensations you describe are vividly stated & I believe these are universal feelings for being "in love" . . . but I wonder how much is self-intoxication & how much is related to the hard work of loving another person?
