An Ode to My Shadow

An Ode to My Shadow

A Poem by Sue
"

Looked at my shadow and thought of this poem...

"

We walk together and not apart, we both stand still then run

My shadow and I, I wonder why, have been almost as one

My shadow grows tall and then grows small, but I remain the same

It cannot see nor can it hear the world to which I belong

Thought constant companion on walls and floors, what a silent person she

Who follows me around about the place; although human it’s not able to be

A shadow, just a shadow has puzzled and delighted

Intelligent folk’s enquiring mind and good fun while it lasted!

I love the childlike wonder of this. It's a beautiful piece.
