Kindle of Hope

Kindle of Hope

A Poem by writingcrazy55555

Sometimes

things seem

as if

there is

no solution,

as if

nothing

will ever

get better,

as if

all lights

have gone

out

and there

are none left

in the world.

You feel

as if

you are

blindly

reaching out

into blackness,

grasping nothing

and

accomplishing nothing,

and your

fingers

grasp nothing.

It feels

as if

that storm cloud

will never

go away,

and you will be

forever living

in darkness.

But then,

the storm cloud

will drift away,

leaving you

with stars,

twinkling, sparkling,

luminous and bright,

and then

you realize that

things will

get better.

In a dark cave,

the sun all of

a sudden

peeks its way

through the ceiling,

illuminating the

previously dark

space.

Once the night ends,

there is sunrise,

and the sky

lights up with

exuberant colors.

Always look

for a

kindle of hope,

a speck of light

in the

darkness,

something to

hold onto.

Try

To

Never

Let

Go.

It holds a lot of emotion. It tells the truth, and I could imagine this actually happening.

Thanks you for your kind review! :)
Wowza! This is great! I am excited to read more of your work! Definitely brings memories/flashbacks especially that depressing feeling the day after your birthday.

That's so funny, my birthday is tomorrow! :) I'm glad you liked my poem!
I like it, but i was wondering what the strange format was trying to signify? I think it might detract from its effect if you do the entire piece that way, but if you just center specific words or lines it might emphasize them.

I just like to center poems...
I really like this. The message is very inspiring and encouraging. The flow was wonderful and I also liked the freestyle of this poem. No forced on rhymes, just pure flow of thoughts pouring out. Great write.

OK thanks for the suggestion!
Great poem! I would have reworded a thing or two, but it's your poem, and it's no big deal. I love the theme, and the metaphors used to describe these complex feelings... Great job!
