Just Because I'm A Taurus, Doesn't Mean That I Can't Change

Just Because I'm A Taurus, Doesn't Mean That I Can't Change

A Poem by December Blaize
"

About not believing what I've been told my entire life about God and religion, and having to pretend. I can't help being agnostic.

"
I'll watch from my darkened window
When the world comes down
Blocking out the screams
With delusional daydreams--
I'd laugh to see the Mona Lisa frown.
-
They try to shove the fight in my face,
They say to eat it with a spoon,
But I'm so over that--
I'd rather have a quiet chat
With the voices in my mind's cocoon.
-
I'm letting everybody down so badly
And loving every minute of it,
Swearing at the sky--
They're left to wonder why,
But I'm alright with pieces that don't fit.
-
Nobody ever needs a cynic around,
It's funny how they all tune in
When you check out,
Let them despair in my doubt--
After all, this is my fate, already written.

A very well written and interesting poem. There wasn't any noticeable flaws and the poem gives of the sense of being agnostic pretty well. Overall, it was very good.

Very good. I love the phrase "...to see the Mona Lisa frown," even though I'm not sure what it means.
