Saint of Sorrows

Saint of Sorrows

A Poem by December Blaize

Hail Miserie!

Fallen angel, saint of sorrows
Sing the praise, plead for tomorrow.
Bleed your faith and purge your soul
Lose your mind to eyes black as coal.

Hail Miserie!

Singer of tragedy, writer of pain
Gathering up the dreams left in the rain.
Her blade is ice wrapped in frozen chains
Sharp as the words that reduce you to stains.

Hail Miserie!

Protector of no one when there's no hope
Leading you around with a crumbling rope.
Drown in the river of her poison tears
Forced to turn your back and face your fears.

Hail Miserie!

Pray for her sinners, one and the same
Divided we fall, together in shame.
The broken seek refuge in the House of Weeping
Awaiting our turn for the silent soul reaping.

Hail Miserie!

I love how you personified Miserie. I really liked the flow of this as well as the images you produced. I think my favorite lines are "Pray for her sinners, one and the same/Divided we fall, together in shame." This makes me think of when you feel hurt, and angry, at yourself, and others. Defeated, is what word comes to mind, and finding solace in misery.
