The Almost Poem

It was lovely and terrible,
Transparent and true,
For never and ever all along
And I longed to write for you.

Impossible and empty,
Sorry and unforgiving,
All that I have once cried for
And I couldn't write for you.

It was raw and unraveled,
Beautifully disastrous,
The only pretty thing I ever wrote
And I didn't write it for you.
