Head down eyes up

Head down eyes up

A Poem by Carlee
"

How the meek shall rule.

"

There is a mystery a foot.

Jewels have been stolen.

Secrets have been leaked, and blood spilled.

Don't worry though.

Keep your head down and your eyes up.

Your footsteps fall softly.

Your laugh is so dainty.

Pretty green eyes shall show no glint of your intelligence.

Remember all you hear.

Know who to tell so your pocket weighs heavy.

Remember the code to the lock.

They didn't think you watched as you sat prettily in the corner.

Take the pretty necklaces.

Take the money.

You may wear their silk.

You may dance their dances.

But you are not of them.

When they come rushing into the room.

Swords drawn, with the corrupted name of the law on their lips.

You claim ignorance with a daft look and wide eyes.

Their eyes pass over you.

For you are the meek, you are the powerless.

You are the simple minded.

Isn't it wonderful?
