DID YOU KNOW ?

This is a poem of a final separation between two people who were in love. and the greed of relatives to destroy it.

You joined me, became a part of me, loved

Me for me and who I was and was happy

I came into your ever empty and needing life -

I loved you, became one with you, coveted

Only you for you and for what you meant to me -

Our lifetime together became as the seasoned

Weather, and I was scattered when the bus

Opened its defining door, and with one last look,

Tail-lights dimming my eyes were all I could see -

You chose your kin across miles of miles

Over the one you chose to stay close to you,

To be there with you, for you, to you -

And you think that is what makes you happy,

You think?  Do you know? Do you really know?
