Haibun
(translated "Haikai Writings" is a form that combines Prose and Haiku)
It was first used as a kind of travel journal by the 17th-century Japanese poet, Matsuo Băshō.
It was a form he often popularized as travel accounts.
Haibun poetry is used to write autobiography, diary, essay, Prose Poems, and very short stories.
Traditional Haibun typically took the form of a short, precise poetic description of a place,
person or object, or a diary of a journey or other events in the poet's life, followed by a related haiku.
Haibun is now written worldwide and the form has been adapted into different variations.

Susan,
There is much I love about poetry... it has so much to offer form philosophy to imagery, to salve for aching bones. Some images are sharp and clear as a Winslow painting, others soft as Monet, like this poem. I move to the sere Llano Estacado in the Texas panhandle from the lush forests and splashing creeks of Tennessee, and you rook me back for a moment... thank you.
