Shadows In the Sun

Shadows In the Sun

A Poem by Susanna F
"

To my brothers, written age 16.

"

Shadows in the sun

Come down upon me now

Blue tears in rainbows

Are meeting me somehow.

Ask what I have done

Put nightmares in my dreams

How could I have known

That broken silence screams?

I left what meant most

A unity so strong

What was real fades fast

Could I have chosen wrong?

Weeds in a rosebed

Are shadowing my mind

Thorns among petals

Escape would be so kind.

I need you to know

My love has always won

But while we're apart

There are shadows in the sun.
