The Dark Ones

The Dark Ones

A Poem by Susanna F
"

Guilt and Depression strike again.

"

Black, black, black...

They rise to the attack

Sin, sin, sin...

Soon they will begin.

"Your heart is black as coal"

She says, to reach her goal

She plays upon my fears,

Heedless of my tears.

Her tongue is bitter-sweet

Her words all hope will eat

She's tearing me apart

To feed upon my heart.

Then comes a shadow dark

To make naked and stark

To turn me cold as stone

Forever, all alone.

If I give in to him

He'll break me on a whim

He'll twist inside my head

And strive to leave me dead.

All black! Black! Black!

I cringe as they attack.

Sin! Sin! Sin!

Once again, they begin.
