Night Dreams

Night Dreams

A Poem by Susanna F
"

Our brief escape.

"

The evening has come

And the daylight is over

The candles put out for to sleep.

Gone for now is the light

And the hurts that have torn you

Dried now are the tears that you weep.

You lay in your bed

By the window and dream

Of roaming by mountain or shore.

The moon guides your journey

The paths all glow white

The only sound the ocean's roar.

Through the trees comes a strain

Of music so faint

A voice sings of freedom from fear.

It goes on as you roam

Wherever you may go

It's the song of your heart that you hear.

For you know in your heart

That nothing can keep you

From dreams that are real to you.

No matter the day

And the chains that may bind you

In the night all your dreams become true.
