Fire Snake

Fire Snake

A Poem by Susanna F
"

I am a fire snake - this is what that means.

"

Silent I go

Until my words are earned

Delicate, so I hide

In hole of earth and stone

Slender, I feed

Only at need

All the world towering above me

Faithfully protective of the weak

Cautiously defensive against threat

Flashing hot when injustice provokes

Then I cry warm tears, secret tears

It’s not that I deceive

But why confide in you?

This is wonderful. You have made me feel for a snake...
So poetic and metaphoric.. Enjoyed it,

Chloe

There is such a mingling of metaphor and more here... what is seen and unseen... felt and made numb... beautiful and bittersweet... What a profound music you've made.
