The species is really wonderful.
I am specially encouraged to see that you wrote a piece with scientific name of a plant.Thus you have introduced binomial nomenclature in WC.

I'm trying to identify as many of the local plants as I can. The scientific name is the only real way to make sure I am passing on the correct plant and its uses. I show the plants to my mom and several other older people in the area and they always have different common names. Mom knew of this as bittersweet, but bittersweet is a different plant, actually there are two varieties of it so it only makes sense to use the scientific name :)

Yea, depending on a common name is really a great problem for a practical purpose. You may find in the link that there are a number of common names for this species.So,scientific name is the only safe way to handle a species.
