Homeward Bound

"

TOVLI'S CHALLENGE 1. bound 2. den 3. suffering 4. dressed 5. armour 6. points 7. wrapped 8. moment 9. skin 10. last the classic 10/40: use all 10 words in a poem no more and no less than 40 words

"

I am homeward bound
To den so safe
Sanctuary safe from suffering
Dressed in birthday attire

World's armour shed away
Heart points me there
Wrapped in loving arms
One moment from harm

Skin hot and damp
Weary sleep at last

I keep thinking the blue colours are links !! ;-) I judge my poetry by how often I desire to read it. The circular pattern of this piece demands many re-reads which is sweet. If I had a higher IQ i might discern the code of the blue words. Any time you can use the word "Armour" I think that is great. Love that word

lol No code. This was a challenge. Each of the blue words was a required word for the poem. Thank.. read more
it is almost as if you are describing many facets of the person's life in a most concise manner, which I think works very well

My Dear Writing Friend,
I enjoyed your creative write that followed some guidelines with unusual parameters. I myself would not try such a project until my brain heals up more. I liked the use of the word “den”, here is one of its meanings.

den
noun
• informal a small, comfortable room in a house where a person can pursue an activity in private.

When I can I go home to what I call my man cave, I think I’ll start calling it my den. I just started looking over some of your writes, you are very creative and blessed. As my head allows I will start following you work once more, it has always brought many hours of musing to this old codger while reflecting by my fire in my DEN.

Blessings, Laughing-Bear

Beautifully penned Norma. You used the 'ten' to their very best advantage to make a lovely poem. Thanks for joining in the challenge.
