The Fallen

The Fallen

A Chapter by Norma M Sutton
"

Team Renfield some times memories are not so sweet

"
The fall was the begining of the end
The trip was only the start
The torn knee and the blood were only part
Of my awakening to the truth

A normal person would have reached for me concerned
Not you
With anger and fury you turned and drug me to my feet

How dare I bring attention to me and not you
"How dare you fall over a curb"
"Bleed? You should bleed"
You seemed to say

Never again could I trust in you
Never again would you hurt me so
With hatred you made my life misery
And yet . . . I was sad when you chose to go

Yes, I AM the fallen one
Took me years to know
Only one unfeeling would have reacted so

Author's Note

Norma M Sutton
prompt: Moving on, let's write! So you're tapping down the street, just having a think, and you trip over some object you didn't see. As you sit on the ground (though it's just your pride that is hurt) somebody helps you up. Write away Renfieldians...

and yes Astrid . . . we do, for the most part, write what we know :)

A sad story in this poem. People who want the attention lose the love of the people who need and respected them.
"A normal person would have reached for me concerned
Not you
With anger and fury you turned and drug be to my feet"
A excellent poem. Thank you.

I'm tearing up. I am not ashamed to say this one really struck a chord. Wow. Renfieldians unite!

. brilliantly expressed, norma ... the pain is almost palpable ... absolutely ravishing poetry ...

You find out who your true friends and loved ones are in moments of crisis... it is easy to get along when things are going good.

What a painful, wonderful write, I understand so completely....they don't like it on their freshly mopped floors either...
