Exhaling tightly held breath, a gasp exploded from her lips becoming a ear shattering scream as his body fell from the heavens.  With the force of a comet he approached the earth, hugging the ground before extending massive wings and wheeling skyward once again.

I like the imagery, but too bad you haven't written more of it - I think it would be a good story. So, yes, it makes me want to read more!
