Let Me Write

Let Me Write

A Poem by Hanakuso
"

One of my early poems in college. I apologize if everything's a mess, but I was so stressed at this point in my life that it became sort of a slogan for me to carry on.

"

Write everyday

Write.

Write.

Write.

Write until it becomes a part of you.

Write because it’s the only thing

You know you can still do.

Write some more.

Write until it becomes

The singular rhythm of our bodies.

Like excreting and breathing.

Tedious but necessary.

Write to let it out.

Excrete to let go of wastes.

Breathe to cleanse your lungs.

Write and do something with it.

Write to take up space.

Like the fats in our body.

Insulates, protects, defines.

The truth cannot be hidden

So write.

Because useless poems like this

Have their own place.
