A Story by tabytha

December 6th, 2015
"The greatest cruelty is our casual blindness to the despair of others." We are so focused on our own sorrow, on our own anger, on our own happiness, to realize that of everyone around us. And really, why would we care about the feelings of the person standing next to us in assembly? But, why don't we care? Because we're so selfish. So, insanely, f*****g self-absorbed. Self-absorbed in our pleasure, self-absorbed in our sorrow, self-absorbed in our suffering, even self-absorbed in our self-loathing. Why don't we all just wear glasses on our minds and our egos so that we can truly see the despair that everyone wears so unwillingly and unknowingly openly? Because we are so selfish. So, insanely, f*****g self-absorbed. I am sorry for being inconsiderate. I am sorry for being thoughtless. I am sorry for being self-absorbed.
