actually, quinfinn, if you're not immediately killed by the gunshot, you can hear it. There are many instances where soldiers and combatants have experienced hearing a "whisper" as bullets that hit them draw near, as opposed to the common whistling sound that we hear in movies.
Just an interesting fact, I wasn't trying to start an argument, thought you'd find that enlightening.
