Success?

The feeling you get as you pass the finish line,
It is a feeling like no other.
It fills you with pride and accomplishment.
It gives you a sense of worth.
SUCCESS!
You scream with joy.
You glow with pride.
You see your loved ones rush towards you.
They congratulate you and embrace you.
This is the happiest day of your life.
Until you wake up,
And realize it was all a dream.

Or was it an artist's impression of what you WILL be doing sometime in the near'ish future. There are many studies and papers and books about the significance and impact of dreams. My 2 minute spin is (a) they might be pure fantasy which your awake conscious self is probably right to dismiss, (b) they might be a metaphor for something you could definitely try for, (c) parts of them may call out to you in other ways; perhaps in this case how to feel more appreciated by family; (d) parts may be a visualisation of something you're actually already working towards, e.g. a 10k or giving that presentation in front of 100 people or in rehearsals for a play.

So I enjoyed the poem a lot. It painted a clear feel-good picture. As you can tell, I might have aded a cryptic closing line such as 'Or was it ...?"

i am retired and my successes are the goals i set for the day ..like walk the dog today ...or burn the brush ... repair this or repair that ;) so i am always successful you see!? even if i change my mind and have a do nothing day ... i have successfully rested :))) love and peace Alice! thank you for your encouragement for me ..right back at ya!!

I guess that's true. Writing really helps me express myself and not fake anything so people will like me. I am my true self when I write. So I guess being on this website where I can share my work, and see people enjoy it is a enormous step to success for me.
