A Poem by tarasov
"

I watched "Dead poets society" for the first time ever and as I was watching this is what i was inspired to write.

"
I am your child not your horse!
I do not want to be a vessel for you lost dreams and hardass ways.
you don't own me!
Trying to own a child is like trying to own a wild bird,
you can catch it and put it in a cage,
but it is never truely yours.
It will escape(one way or another) and leave you!
Damn it dad I am your SON, not your robot.
I want to ACT and i will do so either because of you or in SPITE of you.
The theater is my passion,
I did not mean to anger or disappoint you in this.
It's just the way it is.

Now I feel nothing, the moments I shined are just memories now
and I am numb.
I do not want to be a DR.
I want only to be puck.
"I was good. I was really good."

Author's Note

tarasov
VERY ROUGH! I really want some good constructive criticism. It feels choppy to me. but this is what I imagine Neil would have said to his dad if he had the courage. I want it to speak of Neil in a very true way. so any insight as to what you think HE would have said would be awesome. Thanks. Tarasov
