Carry My Heart

Carry My Heart

A Poem by Tarry Franck

Time makes love
Light like fire
The flames burn
With such a sensual glow
That only from friendship
Love may grow,
We've waited many years
To come together
And without you realizing
You have washed away many tears,
You have carried to my heart
And placed upon my face
Such joy and laughter
I truly embrace,
Wherever this may lead
I know not yet
But I'm willing to follow
However far these feelings may go.

The worst thing to do in a relationship is to rush. Being friends first is always recommended. Things take time in a relationship to grow and being at ease with someone is always a better feeling. This is a good example of such combination of friendship and love. Nice writing from you Tarry.

Leading a friendship into a relationship can be make or break, it may be the best decision you ever make; however it may not be quite right for the two of you. This poem is perfect in length and flow, it is informal, a feature I struggle with in my writes - that I commend you on! I can imagine this read slowly and softly, almost as a Shakespherian soliloquy! Nice work Tarry :)

Once again tarry you've captured my feelings exactly ... in the words of Popeye. "Very romantical."

Lol!
Can a friend be more than a friend without that friendship being doomed?
I pray that 'carry my heart' doesn't become 'bury my heart' Tarry.
This is a fine poem that I would be proud to have written
Well done

This is sublime and soothing...I like the way that you allow the words to linger a little, which I think is a good metaphor for a strong relationship. We must let the tea steep before we drink it, you know? Love the sentiment and emotion here; so intrinsically honest. I do hope the best for this budding bloom...
