Dog eared & daydreaming

Dog eared & daydreaming

A Poem by terry smith

A child is pure as the driven snow....
We are a tapestry
of colors & stains
deep gaping wounds
& faded scars
faded from a once point of brilliance...
but if you look close enough

This is a really nice piece. I believe we're born knowing all and just too weak and hungry to do much about it except maybe grab a tit and hold on for dear life. The wisdom of men is foolishness with God I've heard so maybe we are born with a higher wisdom; the need to be loved; the willingness to trust and more honest innocence than we shall ever possess again. Here's to the inner child we keep uncontaminated from the mundane brutality of life.

If you look close enough there is still the child within.

I observe my son often and bask in his innocence.

Loved both the poem and the wonderful title.
