Without you

Without you

A Poem by terry smith

Without You

Once
we cast the same shadow
now the vast
space between us
leaves a lump in my throat
as deep
as the oceans
& I cannot
swallow
nor breathe...

I sit in
shadows of remembrance
in deja vu
of when
mismatched hands
touched
& echos
of repentance bells
did not ring
in my ears

from my book Angel Vomit

A haunting piece that definitely cause the reader to suspend their own breath. Erudite capture.
