Danza della anime

Danza della anime

A Poem by terry smith

With bravura strokes
she paints a tapestry
of desires & ancient wounds
upon wisps of shadows
long succumbed to darkness

bound by umbilical thread
screams of shattered silence
reach vaulted peaks
to drown

circumference of flame
closes to corset
devouring sins
purified soul released

as hind-sighted children
play roundabout
& echo gregorian chants
of the free

So beautiful, the words dance with perfection. I had to read again. No wasted words and made my old mind wander off to different places with the powerful description. Thank you Terry for sharing the amazing words and thoughts.

You are welcome Terry.
i like how you paint the portrait of her looking back with such sadness and yet the children play and enjoy their new found freedom....yet eventually they will understand, and they will miss that guiding hand..
and maybe wish that "umbilical thread" might have held on a little longer.
beautiful work
