Turbine breeze

A Poem by terry smith

….and a cockroach appeared on the tile floor crawling aimlessly from the corner where the floor meets the wall over towards me. The bug was scurrying in circles infused with poison that was laid out for it like brunch at some fancy hotel.I instantly felt a kinship with the insect as I had been on this carousel myself for quite some time, spiraling out of control on whatever drug I could get my hands on …eating my own tail. The roach suddenly stopped dead, literally, and I started thinking is this how it ends for me also, lifeless in a pool of body secretions poisoned by the vices laid before me. “Get a grip!” I thought to myself, as I put out my cigarette on the cockroach thus giving it a viking funeral of sorts in my head. Then I head out to the streets , off on another adventure to score something ,anything so I wouldn’t feel as insignificant as that bug.

and way leads to way....and the cycle continues...we find excuses to continue our self-destructive behavior...even a Viking Funeral will do.
this really packs a punch.
