One Man Army

One Man Army

A Poem by Taylor Ann

There is only me

My own army

I am the army

There is only me.

The cannon sounds

I race forwards

screaming,

running towards defeat,

reaching out.

Gun raised high

my eyes lock on

the target

I run towards her

irises identical

both holding the image

of harmony.

Her lips part

the silent whispers,

falling from my mouth

to hers.

Her heart throbs

to the beat of my mind

We both stand still,

breathing heavy.

My finger twitches

on the trigger.

She is me.

I am her.

Bam.

My eyes roll back,

her knees buckling.

I reach out

as we fall to our knees

our fingers touching.

Neither of us

make it out alive.

That was very powerful. Very nice read that allowed for some uniquely dark themes.
I am sorry you feel that way though. It will get better, though...if you keep your head up.

One man army
Against single enemy
The idea is awesome
I am amazed by its beauty.
