Experience is a Harsh Teacher

Experience is a Harsh Teacher

A Poem by Tbird
"

While watching Saw 4, I was inspired by the quote made, "Experience is a Harsh Teacher, first its the test, then the lesson." I really liked the saying so I wrote my inspiration.

"

Often a teacher has a process

Plenty of time to read from the books

To educate you before the test

A painless process to be prepared

Education and Experience

Are the greatest teachers in the world

Power is knowledge that you can share

Each one teach one a very small cost

But experience is not so kind

You will hurt, and not learn most the time

And pain is the price to learn this way

Experience is a Harsh Teacher

Experience will give you a test

In which you might pass or you might fail

Not until then, you’ll learn the lesson

A painful process, you weren’t prepared

Experience teaches with a price

You don’t know heat, until you are burned

You don’t regret until it is gone

Always a day late and dollar short

Education and Experience

The choice is yours on how you will learn

Do you learn more from taking the test

Experience is a Harsh Teacher

You are so right, experience. Try this. I have a 19 year old son, who at the ripe age of 16 decided it would be fun to run away from home during the summer. And during this sabbatical, decided to follow some extremely unsmart friends to put it mildly, now for a first offense my beloved son is spending a 12 years sentence in Calipatria State Prison (level 4), in California. It's so crazy how we educate with our words, but sometimes people insist on learning through experience. On a good note, my sons friends, the smart ones, they have learned that its not always necessary to jump off the bridge, you can experience the fear and anguish just watching someone else plummet. Great write. Thanks

This is a topic my friend, that is very close to my heart right now as I am swamped under the weight of educations demands on me until June....this learning business is one experience that I am finding incredibly restricting to my natural creativity, but I am learning!lol Good to read you again, your poem has an accent in the middle!lol or is that 'of the time. Smiling at you, Tai, back from the tread too...
