The Senate Impeachment Trial

The Senate Impeachment Trial

A Poem by Bob B

As the House members turn up the dial

At the president's impeachment trial,

If you're keeping score,

You'll see more and more

That the GOP lives in denial.

How can a trial be legit

If Midnight Mitch will not permit

Key witnesses there?

He says, "I don't care.

Who needs a trial? Just acquit."

His reasoning's so hard to parse.

He basically says, "Kiss my arse."

There's SO much at stake,

But HE'S going to make

The trial in the Senate a farce.

Indeed, I cannot believe he will be acquitted..they are saying well yes he did many mistakes and and his actions were wrong but not enough to impeach or remove him. I wonder what is considered enough? He watched The Godfather then acted as a true Mafioso against the new president of Ukr and blackmailed him and to them that's fine, what a farce. Speaking of farce :), I enjoyed this poem a lot. Here's my 2 cents: the last two lines of the last stanza threw me off the nice rhyme effect it read right from the beginning.
