Photograph

A Poem by team-sophie
"

for a friend

"

That photograph was never taken,

Proof of what had existed then,

For a time which, though significant to me,

Was a mere moment compared to infinity.

A friendship built on hopes and dreams,

Over a distance greater than it seemed.

Never a warm hug, never a smile shared,

Yet never a doubt that either cared.

And sometime later on in life,

I'll have my job, you'll have your wife,

And I'll think about what might have been,

What could have been, what should have been.

For now though time will just continue.

Will you forget, or just pretend to.

For what its worth; nothing or lots

I would have met you at the docks. <3
