Rebounding

Rebounding

A Poem by Tempest

A whirlwind romance,
I was consumed by you,
And now -
Every other touch pales,
My heart cries out for you,
I hate myself for throwing it away,
I know I will grow -
I will adjust to not having you,
But I don’t want to,
I miss the security of you,
I find no comfort in other arms,
I can’t seem to lose the time,
Memories haunt me,
Some of the best of my life,
Untainted,
For you offered me the best of you,
Somehow it just makes it hurt more,
Caught between my dependence -
And my freedom,
I flail, can’t seem to find footing,
I have been blown off course,
Those same old dreams seem
lack luster now.

this is definitely heart-felt and filled with many emotions. an intense write...strong and expressive.
it translates very well the pain of parting.. in spite of the free style which - i think- at the end of the poem is a bit disturbing i totally loved it:) many kudos
