This darkness that consumes me...
Consumes us
Where does it come from?
Who placed this seed of evil inside us to root within our hearts?
We allow it to control our better selves
We seek to destroy all meaningful things around us
We are lost in madness

But there is the light
It can be seen in the distance
So why avoid what can be seen?
Why avoid what gives life?
Here, in waiting, is the unknown
Stay in this comforting place
Everything capable of love will eventually end
Embrace where you are
You are already here...

Why is man so fascinated with the beginning of things?

The beginning is the end and the end the beginning- great words and deep thoughts- why people choose dark instead of light they will only know perhaps it’s easier for them to cope reaching for the light and walking it brings many challenges many would rather avoid🌹

The thing is that most of us question our existence. We wonder and want and search for answers..while all the time we are wasting time not enjoying the fact that we are here and every moment counts..

It was a great attempt at writing something so philosophical. This is great and different.

I think of the opening verse and think of depression, and how it is a battle the entire family must fight. I thought this has a strong message, and a clear voice.

We obsess with the beginning because we fear the end, and wish to prolong if not re-create and loop what is good to us in order to sustain it forever. People fear the unknown, it has a negative connotation of danger and since no one truly knows what happens at the end, except the ones who get there, we scramble back up the slope we are sliding down frantically trying to collect the trail of wasted time. We fail to see what lies ahead, far to focused on what is behind and because of that we cannot see past the end, therefore to us, the end means a stop to all things. In reality, the end of here, is the beginning of there...

Well KC - your best attempt is great. It can be a bit melancholy but trying to puzzle out these questions about our existence must be good for the soul. it is something I'm prone to myself.

What a beautiful read. Darkness is glorious but terrifying thing. Some people embrace it to let it become them and others fight for the light. I truly enjoyed reading this!
