Faith: Dedication to Devon

Faith: Dedication to Devon

A Poem by T.H. Dalton

Her beauty was as of an eagle flying high into the sky.
Her eyes carried the twinkle of the north star.
Her smile was that of a true bliss, a perfect wish upon a star.
Her laugh was the happiness in that of which no Kings money could ever buy.
The moment death waved his hand over her face,
and merely took my faith,
as she laid in a box with no beauty, no star, no smile, no bliss and no laugh.
The tears flowed as the pain grew.
My heart burned like the sun as the anger boiled.
She came quietly in the night, but careful not to wake.
She spoke soft words too sooth the pain.
With my tears she left with a white flag baring three golden candle sticks.
