Courts of your Love

There is no place I have found,

With peace undisturbed and eternal,

With so much fragrance and splendor,

Like the courts of your love.

 

Like the wine taken in the evening in the Kings Palace,

So is your love upon my being,

It flows serenely,

Moving me swiftly in atmosphere of ataraxia.

 

Like a flower christened with morning dew,

So has your love replenished my soul,

Furnished me with vitality to move forward,

Like a dedicated Zulu hunter.

 

Like a flower bud guarded by the petals,

To give it a soft and tender luster,

So has your love been holding me,

Modified me into a man I’m purposed to be.

 

Your bosom is like verdure of the meadows in June,

Lulled with greenness of affection,

I have found comfort by laying down,

In that field of your bosom my Love.

 

There is resplendence,

In the courts of your love.

I feel like such a pedant for saying this but the line concerning the bud and the petals irked a little boygene. The amateur horticulturalist was screaming the anatomy of flowers which is totally my flaw not a flaw in this beauty of a poem. So many images which made me feel fuzzy and the word ataraxia - well, what can I say ... awesome.

I liked the way the description made the places and thoughts come alive to the reader.
