dear cousin.

dear cousin.

A Poem by Chloe
"

I am sick of how my cousin picks things up and puts them wherever the hell she wants.

"

dear cousin:

you are careless with other people’s things.

sometimes I see the way you pick something up

and put it down where you like

and it makes me wonder if you

will be that careless with people someday.

dear cousin:

sometimes I think of you,

and my heart’s mind swells with love—

but this is only when I am not with you.

dear cousin:

sometimes, public hiding places must be respected.

sometimes, people don’t like honesty.

sometimes, you must put things back where you found them.

I very much enjoyed your first stanza...there was a strange comedy in them that made me smirk wryly. Honestly, it is much stronger than the last two. May I suggest making the piece just the first stanza.
